The 815E is the first Intel desktop board to support the CNR connector. The CNR connector is designed to support audio, modem, USB* and LAN interfaces of the 815E chipset. The interfaces supported include AC '97, LAN and SMBus. The CNR interface specification does not mandate that all possible interfaces be used. Though the CNR interface is capable of supporting USB, the USB interface from the ICH2 to the CNR is not supported by the 815E. |
