Windows® Me, which stands for Windows® Millennium Edition, is the latest operating system from Microsoft®. It will offer many new features that are primarily for the home user. New features such as improved Internet Connection Sharing, DirectX®7 and Windows® Media promise to maximize the end user experience with Windows® Me. At the time of this posting, Windows® Me is in "RTM" (release to manufacturing) status. This means that Microsoft's engineering groups have "released" the operating system to their own manufacturing process and some major OEM's (PC manufacturers) who require preparation time for their fall PC shipments. The latest information from Microsoft® reports that the official launch is expected September 14, 2000. | ||||||||||||||||||
